Student Info

The IB Programme encourages an international mind-set and this is important to us. We want our students to adopt both a global and local perspective on events. With a well-mixed multi-cultural student body it is not difficult to learn new things every day! As part of our global outlook students in the pre-IB year engage in a model-UN role play hosted by senior students.

Students who have graduated from Sven Eriksonsgymnasiet’s IB Diploma Programme have continued their studies at universities and colleges both in Sweden and abroad. When we hear back from our alumni it is typical for them to comment on how well-prepared they have felt for their studies and how their university studies are a much less daunting experience thanks to all the skills and in-depth knowledge they have acquired in IB.

Here is what former student Shervin Khosousi has to say about his years at Sven Eriksonsgymnasiet. He graduated in 2012 and now studies to become a doctor at Karolinska Institutet.

- I was prepared for university studies by acquiring a broad knowledge base, study technique tools, and an academic approach to studies. The IB programme made me comfortable with the English language and more prone to take risks and explore new opportunities.

Shervin remembers the great feeling when he finished his exams, and also how he enjoyed studying at Sven Eriksonsgymnasiet.

– There was a real sense of community at school, and the teachers were all skilled and wanted that all students should do as well as possible. Since the majority of grades were not determined by the teachers, it contributed to a relaxed atmosphere in the classroom where you teamed up with the teachers to meet the demands of the IB programme together.
